Driving the Nexon EV Through a Bengaluru Monsoon

Renters coming from colder climates sometimes assume monsoon weather will hurt an EV's range the way winter cold does elsewhere. Bengaluru's monsoon doesn't get cold enough for that to matter much — the temperature drop during the rains is mild, and it barely dents the Nexon EV's real-world range.

What actually matters in the monsoon is the same thing that matters for any car here: waterlogging on low-lying stretches. The Nexon EV's battery pack is sealed and rated for regular monsoon driving, so a standard wet road isn't a concern. Deep, standing water is a different matter for any vehicle, electric or not — treat a flooded underpass the same way you would in a petrol car, which is to say, don't attempt it.
