HSR Layout: the problem is weekends, not weekday mornings

Most Bengaluru advice assumes a 9am rush hour. HSR Layout barely has one — it's mostly residential, so weekday mornings are lighter than you'd expect. Its actual bottleneck is the opposite: 27th Main and the Agara Lake stretch clog with restaurant and pub traffic from Friday evening straight through Sunday brunch, and the HSR BDA Complex parking lot fills by 9:30am on a Saturday because of the weekend market. If you're renting here, the Swift's easy parking in the tight Sector 2 lanes matters more on a Saturday night than any weekday-commute consideration.

Koramangala: an all-day plateau, not a rush-hour spike

Koramangala's congestion doesn't spike sharply at 9am and 6pm the way most of the city does — it's start-up and cafe density, which means fairly constant traffic through the day, with a genuine worst window at 1-3pm from the lunch crowd pouring out of its co-working spaces. The Sony World Signal-Sarjapur Road junction is the single chokepoint that turns a short evening drive into a long one. Whitefield is the one locality where the old "IT rush hour" stereotype is completely accurate — the ORR between Kadugodi and Hoodi locks up like clockwork at 8:30-10am and 5:30-8pm as ITPL, EPIP Zone, and Sigma Soft Tech Park empty out on staggered cycles. Unlike HSR or Koramangala, weekends here go quiet by Saturday afternoon, because most of the working population commutes in from elsewhere and simply isn't around. The Swift is the default pick for the daily commute itself, but families here lean toward the Innova for weekend Coorg and Chikmagalur runs, since the ORR-to-NH75 route favours a bigger, steadier vehicle over the daily-commute hatchback.
